30 Day Challenges & Yoga Camp

30 day challenges are a great way to get in a routine. When I do something for 30 days in a row, I always expect it the next day. I look forward to it and when it’s over…I just keep going. I want to share with you my recent 30 day challenge adventure and encourage you to try as well.

30 Day Yoga Camp

Yoga Camp by Yoga with Adriene.

I thought I had yoga all figured out. Nope. Adriene brings out a whole different perspective. Poses that were once simple were presented in a way to rediscover the purpose of the pose. For example, sphinx pose is a relatively simple pose. She breaks it down so you are working your entire body while doing this. I used to just plop down and raise the upper body. Now it’s: press into your palms, lift your kneecaps to engage the quadriceps, keep shoulders lifted, and press navel to spine. I am surprised at how much work that is. If I took that mindset to everything, I would get much more out of life! This yoga camp is great for any level exerciser. Even advanced people will find the challenge.

Another great thing: there’s a type of “mantra” each day to keep focused and motivated. Day 1 starts with “I accept” with the opportunity to finish the statement however it fits into your life.

Here’s some other 30 day challenges to try:

  • This one truly got me interested in yoga and was the first one I did. It was so accessible being only about 10-15 minutes per day.

Create Your Own Challenge

You may not like yoga and a 30 minute-ish video won’t work, but a different 30 day challenge that works for you is a good idea.

If you struggle to get started with exercising, this will help you. Anything that you decide you want to work on, do it for 30 days. It’s that simple. You’ll feel pretty accomplished at the end.

Here’s some ideas for 30 day challenges:

  • 1 push up on day 1, 2 push ups on day 2….until you get to 30
  • 10 squats per day
  • 10 minute walks
  • 50 jumping jacks
  • 5 minutes of stretching
  • 1 minute plank
  • 5 burpees
  • 1 mile jog

So many options and levels to work with.
