Healthier Latte

This healthier latte recipe that will be nicer to your waistline, pockets, and energy levels.

Servings 1 regular coffee cup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp blackstrap molasses *may sub extra maple syrup
  • 1 tsp maple syrup *could also use honey
  • 1 dash vanilla
  • 4 oz whole milk *sub coconut milk, almond milk
  • 6-8 oz strong hot brewed coffee

Instructions
 

  • Brew coffee as directed by your coffee machine. Make it extra strong compared to usual
  • Steam the milk. Whole milk will froth the best. If you have a frother, use that when it's ready. If not, then just blend it in with the other ingredients.
  • Add all ingredients to the coffee and half of the milk. Blend with a hand blender or use a regular blender (it will be hot!!). I suggest doing this in a larger cup than you'd expect if using a hand blender, it can get messy.
  • Top with the rest of the frothed milk and enjoy!

Notes

Blackstrap molasses will produce a stronger, less sweet flavor. Maple syrup is next sweetest. Then honey will be the sweetest option. Use the measurements as a point to do the best amount for your taste buds. You may like it less sweet or more sweet.
